Day 3 of taking wallpaper down...

Well, 2 1/2 days technically I guess...

anyway....it's going slowly, but I have only messed one wall up by removing too much drywall...Grant messed the other wall up, so only 2 walls no harmed! HA! I have removed the front of the wallpaper and now I'm working on spraying Piranha Gel Wallpaper Remover. It's working like a charm! I love this stuff! What a great invention! The paper backing just peels right off.

And so it begins...

I began tearing the wallpaper off the bathroom walls this evening. I read that you should try to remove the top portion (or whatever will tear off) before trying to spray the walls with any solution. The paper is coming off some, but it will definitely need the solution to help dissolve the backing and paste.

No-Sew Fleece Doggie Bed

I loved this tutorial from Craftster! I pulled out my scrap fleece and started making a bed for my dog right away since she has destroyed her store-bought bed! She's a very rambunctious year old puppy. I did not do the round pattern as suggested, I decided to try and make a rectangular bed. However, after getting halfway through the cutting I realized that the bed would be smaller than anticipated. I continued however to make the bed since I do have a smaller 6 year old Chihuahua. Once completed with the knot tying, I decided to stuff it with a used pillow from our house. It worked out perfectly! However, the BIG PUPPY wants the bed! HAHAHA! I'm going to have to work on it and make it larger---probably 2 pillows wide.

A creative craft/gift idea!

Check out this really cleaver idea for gift giving....if any of my teacher friends and children's teachers see this, you might get one one day!

Got the idea from "The Polka Dot Chair" blog I read....she got the idea from a blog she reads!

Anyway, check it out!

The Big Apple VBS is over...

Well, a week long vacation bible school is officially over. Rosie and I enjoyed working with the children in grades 1-5 during our craft section. It was tough at times, there were many children, tough crafts, lots of paint and glue everywhere, but overall....IT WAS A GREAT WEEK!

Our crafts this week included:

Day 1: Big Apple Stress ball to remind the children when they get stressed about things they should have FAITH that Jesus will be there for them always to help them.

Day 2:I love(heart) Jesus bookmark to remind the kids that we should LOVE Jesus the way he loves us.

Day 3: Pillowcases with tall skyscrapers outlined in paint. We had the kids write TRUST in the skyline and draw stars. This helped the kids to remember that they can Trust Jesus just as Nicodemus trusted Jesus one evening.

Day 4: Apple Coasters to remind the kids that the Samaritan woman went to the well to see Jesus and show her love for him. Every time the kids drink water and use the coaster they will think of Jesus at the well.

Day 5: Taxi Cab Tic-Tac-Toe Game to remind the kids to make connections with others and share their faith with them.

Easter Wreath 2

I found an inspiration on one of the blogs I follow. I loved the idea, so I made an easy and inexpensive decoration with plastic Easter eggs, Easter grass, and cardboard foam backing. The glue gun does most of the work and you're done!
