Easter Wreath

I wanted an Easter wreath and I saw so many beautiful, yet expensive, wreaths in the stores. So, I ventured out and decided to buy the flowers, eggs, and noodle (YES...POOL NOODLE) to make my wreath. I think it turned out very well........considering!

First, I strung a wire through the middle of the noodle and looped it together to hold it's shape. Then, I took Dollar Tree flowers with the Easter Eggs and stuck them through the noodle. I used florist tape to hold to go around the noodle and hold the ends of the flowers together. I was short on flowers and didn't feel like going to the store to buy more, so I used a LARGE pink ribbon that was left over from a baby shower that my mother-in-law and I hosted a while back to place at the bottom.

My opinion..........it turned out great! As a friend of mine pointed out though, it's FUNNY to see it on MY front door because we bought the house 3 1/2 years ago from a Jewish family!

First Harvest

Luke is holding a handful of our FIRST harvest of lettuce EVER! It was a wonderful salad too! Something about harvesting your own lettuce makes it taste so much better!

BREAK!

Well, I'll be taking a break to Florida this weekend.

Lovely Alligator Point near Panacea, FL

I really can't wait to go. I'm leaving work behind and only going to focus on LUKE, READING, & CROCHETING. I'm not great at crocheting, but I'm going to get on You Tube (again) and relearn how to do a granny square. I'm almost thinking I need to make a bunch of granny squares, then link them altogether. Is that possible? I'm sure it is and I intend to find out. Once my squares get a certain size they really start going LOPSIDED, SLANTED, CROOKED.........whatever you want to call it! LOL!

Look at this link to You Tube to see how to crochet your own Granny Square!

Construction Zone Party

Yes, Luke's birthday isn't until the very END of May, but I have to start getting ready for it because otherwise I won't be able to find the supplies to make the party great (at least not at a reasonable price). I went online today to Birthday Direct and got a very good deal on Construction Zone plates, cups, napkins, hard hats, stickers, a table cloth, and goody bags. I'm VERY excited about his birthday.

Luke and I went online today to see about what type of cake he'd like (and as with any 2 1/2 year old he COULDN'T decide which cake he wanted). Here are some ideas I have that I'm going to ATTEMPT to make!

Luke's FAVORITE

Who knows what I'll actually make!

I also found some cute decorating tips online that I'm going to use. I think we're going to have the party OUTSIDE since it is the end of May and shouldn't be too hot. It'll also make for an easy clean-up afterward.

Inspirations

This is my first post EVER on a blog of my own. I'm new at this and will be drowning in this at first, but I love to read blogs, so now I'm going to try one of my own.

I get most of my inspiration from the web. If I have an idea I want to try, well......I look on the internet. For instance, Luke's birthday cake last year. I wanted a dinosaur cake, I looked on the internet and found several I wanted to try. BUT, Luke ultimately got to choose which one he wanted. He chose the one that to him looked most like a dinosaur. And it turned out great!

My nap mats were inspired through the internet, but I put my own touch to them. And they really are great mats. I've made several for my friends and a couple for my two year old.

I hope you enjoy seeing my posts and maybe learn something about me and even gather your own inspirations from here.
